"Memories of Greece" - Commissioned Artwork

"Memories of Greece"
I came across this photo the other day and thought I would share it here. It is a photo of a commissioned wall painting I did sometime in the 90's for my friend, Maria. The photo is a little fuzzy, I believe I took it with a disposable camera. The painting measures 80"h x 40"w and is painted in acrylics in a niche above the fireplace in her living room.
Her husband is from Greece, so they wanted a scene that would remind them of his homeland. I have never been to Greece, but they provided me with lots of reference photos. I worked together with them until we came up with all the elements of the painting that they wanted. It was quite a fun project.
I no longer do wall paintings, but I still do take commissions on paper or canvas, as long as they allow me to stay true to my style. I do not paint portraits of people nor animals, but really enjoy painting places and things, especially if there are flowers involved! So if you have anything you would like to see in a painting, feel free to contact me regarding a commission.
Of course, during the process of this painting, I realized that I really want to travel to Greece and Italy. Hopefully, one of these days soon!
