Winners of my Facebook Page Contest

Desert Beauty
My Facebook page has reached 500 "Likes", so I am giving a signed print of Desert Beauty to three of my page fans. I had the drawing this morning using Random.org. I have sent a message to the three winners and will only mention their names if they say it is okay. Once I have permission to post their names, I will add them to this blog post and to my Facebook page.
They will each receive a 12" x 9.5" signed print on archival matte paper from Fine Art America.
Thank you all for your support!
UPDATE: I have been able to reach two of the winners and still waiting to hear from the third.

Cactus Roses
I started painting cacti when I was a student at UNC. I started painting them because I was so excited about my anticipated move to the Southwest. Twenty-six years later, I am still in New Mexico and still love painting these, as well as other colorful flowers and plants. For some reason, the cactus has become somewhat symbolic for me. It's beautiful here, but it hasn't been easy and I have had to find ways to thrive, sort of like the cactus in the desert.
This is a reproduction of my acrylic painting and is available on Fine Art America as a:

Featured Print of the Day - Desert Beauty

Desert Beauty
When I moved from North Carolina to New Mexico in 1986, I had my house plants in the front of my VW and my dog, Babe, in the back seat. One of the plants was a prickly pear cactus, which we eventually planted outside, where it thrived in the New Mexico sun. It has been a model for several of my cactus sketches and paintings.

Cactus Roses
I've don't think I've ever done this before - changed the title of a painting. Desert Bouquet was painted in 2010 and, honestly, I've never really liked the title. So, yesterday, all of sudden, I just decided to rename it Cactus Roses. I know "cactus rose" can also refer to a type of succulent, but these red blooms on my cactus just remind me of roses, for some reason. Actually, they look a little like poppies, too, but I'll stick with roses. So there, I did it. Cactus Roses is available for purchase here on my website.

Desert Beauty
Artist Rising is a print on demand site owned by art.com. This was the first print on demand site I ever joined back in January 2007. The artists have been through many ups and downs with the site, but I'm excited that they are finally revitalizing the site. One of the new features is more print sizes to choose from.
One of my own favorite paintings is "Desert Beauty". This is available as a giclee print on heavy acid-free watercolor paper in sizes 8x10, 12x16, 16x20, 20x24 and 24x32. It's also available on archival photographic paper in the same sizes. Custom matting and framing are also available.

New Painting entitled "Rosette"
This is an acrylic painting of an agave plant. I wanted to do something a bit different than my brightly colored paintings by capturing the muted grays in this plant. There are all sorts of color combinations in this painting - yellows, reds, browns, greens, blues, purples, as well as black and white. It is painted on Signature gallery wrap canvas. The image is painted onto the edges, so it can be displayed with or without a frame.
