October Morning
Fall is my favorite time of year in New Mexico, especially October. The hot air balloons are out and the cottonwoods are just starting to turn color along the Rio Grande.
This is an original acrylic painting on gallery wrap canvas, which measures 18"h x 24"w x 1.5"d. The painting extends around the edges of the canvas, so it can be displayed framed or unframed. The painting will be delivered via UPS ground, varnished and ready to hang.

Each year in October, the sky is filled with the beauty of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. In this painting, I combined my love of cactus with colorful hot air balloons against a backdrop of the Sandia Mountains.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is taking place from October 6 - 14, 2012. The mass ascension was cancelled yesterday morning due to the weather. This morning, there were no winds, so the balloons lifted off into a beautiful Albuquerque sky. I didn't go to the park, but watched from a distance. Quite a few came my way, so I have a few pictures to share.

The Artists of New Mexico Galleria has a large tent on the balloon field, where you can find beautiful arts and crafts by many talented artists. I have a couple of paintings available there, as well. Be sure to stop by their tent and enjoy the fiesta!
